Meet Belinda Wallin, Blackwell Funerals Somerton Park Location Manager

Before becoming a funeral director in 2018, Belinda was working as a registered nurse.

“I was seeking a change in careers and wanted to help families in their time of grief.”

Caring for the loved ones of families is one of the many things Belinda likes about being a funeral director.

“Arranging a funeral is a privilege for me. It’s an honour that families are entrusting me to care for their family member or friend and prepare a service that reflects their wishes and honours their loved one.”

Belinda prides herself on making the process of arranging a funeral as simple and seamless as possible for the families she serves.

“We have been serving the community for decades and have the knowledge and capability to provide professional services for families. Walking into a funeral home is never easy. My role is to alleviate the stress on families by taking care of the funeral details, so they can grieve and concentrate on themselves.”

We as a family are extremely grateful to Duncan, who's the store manager, for his kind act of compassion and generosity. His kindness has brought us some comfort in our heartache of loss. My beloved father passed away and was cremated overseas a while ago. After we brought back and buried his ashes, I rang the Somerton Park Store wanting to purchase a cross for his grave while we were waiting for his memorial stone. Duncan answered the phone and helped - they not only made the cross but installed it at my father's grave. All this is without charges! (It would have cost about $175). They later explained this was a good-will gesture from them, an incredibly kind gesture that moved me to tears. Our heartfelt thanks to Duncan and Blackwell Funerals Somerton Park. Your kind act meant a lot to us in our difficult time.
