Blackwell Funerals Torrensville staff will Walk For Love

Jason Maher, Blackwell Funerals General Manager and Teresa Leonardi, Community Relations Manager, accompanied by staff from Blackwell Funerals Torrensville and their family members, will join thousands of Adelaide residents for the annual ‘Walk for Love’ charity fundraising event on Sunday, May 29th in support of the Mary Potter Foundation.

Sponsor Blackwell Funerals has already donated $3300 to the worthy cause, and staff members are busy signing up sponsors so they can make an even bigger contribution to this year’s fundraising target of $50,000.

“Blackwell Funerals is proud to support the Mary Potter Foundation and its annual Walk for Love,” said Teresa Leonardi. “The palliative care funded by the Foundation is an indispensable service, and provides comfort, counselling and practical support for people with terminal illnesses and their loved ones.”

Both the 3km and 7km walk routes take participants on a picturesque tour of North Adelaide, with most participants taking part in memory of their loved ones and in appreciation of the care provided in the Mary Potter Hospice and through their outreach program.

The walks commence at the front of Calvary North Adelaide Hospital, and finishes at the Mary Potter hospice for a fundraising BBQ.

“It’s not too late to contribute,” said Blackwell Funerals’ Teresa Leonardi. “Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and you can sponsor members of the Blackwell Funerals Walk for Love team by visiting www.everydayhero.com.au/blackwell_funerals.”

If you’re not taking part, why not line the route on Sunday the 29th May and cheer on the Blackwell Funerals team, easily identifiable by their green and white ‘What’s the Hurry’ t-shirts.

The Mary Potter Foundation gives its thanks to Blackwell Funerals for their great community spirit, for caring and kick-starting the fundraising campaign!
